Contemporary Fall Engagement Session in Waterloo | Erica and Matt

Erica has one of those strong, intense gazes that just mesmerize you. Think Lagertha Lodbrok from the History Channel’s show, Vikings. Erica had blond hair the first time I met her and Matt and seriously, she could be a dead ringer for Lagertha. They even have similar voice tones (but maybe that’s just in my head.) Erica just…draws you in.

Now to Matt. Matt has the warmest blue eyes. Sounds contradictory as blue is a cool hue but to Matt, it makes sense. I think it’s because he’s such an easy going person that when he looks at you, all of that positive energy radiates in his eyes. He makes you feel the same way he does. Warm, happy.

I spent a wonderful Fall afternoon with Erica and Matt for their engagement session last October and I am thrilled that I’ll be working with them again soon for their wedding at Cambridge Mill this July. I love these guys! As I have said before, engagement sessions are important to me as a wedding photographer because it allows me to get to know you more. In photography, if you want to show love, you have to love your subjects. Corny? Maybe. But it’s true. At least for me. I have to love you to for me to photograph your wedding and the best way for me to do that is to shoot your engagement session.

Here are a few images from their engagement session!
