Empire Sandy Wedding | Natalie and Ian
I had been looking forward to sharing photos of Natalie and Ian’s Empire Sandy wedding on the blog from last summer. Why, you ask? First, I don’t often get to photograph a nautical themed wedding on a tall ship. Second, Natalie and Ian were such a pleasure to work with. And with both of them having unique sense of styles, they created a unique wedding that reflected their personality. It definitely was a breath of fresh air. Finally, seeing two people find their soul mates and committing themselves to be together was a special thing to witness. I don’t exactly remember their exact words but I remember how their personal vows to each other had touched me.
I also have to point out that the crew aboard Empire Sandy were fantastic. They’ve all been friendly and helpful to the guests and to my team. Rain delayed Natalie and Ian’s wedding ceremony twice but the crew worked hard to dry up the area really fast for the guests to seat comfortably. The food they served was great as well. No complaints about that. The only thing you’ll have to keep in mind though is that your guests should arrive on time. The ship won’t go back to the harbour to pick up latecomers once they’ve sailed. And once you’re on the ship, you can’t leave before they’re back at the harbour unless you’re willing to jump to a water taxi.
If you do decide to have your wedding aboard the Empire Sandy, you’ll definitely give your guests an awesome wedding experience. The Empire Sandy toured along Lake Ontario throughout the whole time. Your guests will have the best view of the Toronto skyline at night. And the bragging rights of sailing aboard a historical tall ship that is Empire Sandy.
