Engagements

Couples usually tell me before I shoot their engagement session that they are awkward in front of the camera. Or that they don’t know how to pose. Or don’t like to be posed. Or having their photos taken period. If you’ve ever felt the same way, trust me. You are not alone.

The thought of having a big lens pointed at you might seem a little nerve wracking. That’s why some people get anxious when thinking about hiring a wedding photographer. However, you don’t have to be. Once you get to know your photographer and your photographer gets to know you, the whole process of having your photos taken will be easier. That’s what engagement sessions are for.

Engagement sessions allow me to see how you interact with each other. What kind of humour you have so I’ll know how to make you laugh. How comfortable you are with directions so I can help you pose accordingly if needed. I’ll have at least an hour and a half to learn more about you. You’ll have that much time to practice as well. We won’t have the luxury to do that on your wedding day when I sometimes only get 15 minutes time alone with you for portraits. If you’ve had your engagement session with me beforehand, portraits on your wedding day will flow much smoother.

I take pride knowing that I can make my couples feel comfortable at their engagement sessions that their true selves shine through in the images I’ve been able to capture. Once you experience a session with me and see for yourself how much fun it can really be, having your portraits taken on your wedding day will be the least of your worries.
