Guildwood Park Engagement Session | Felisha and Howard

Sometimes your own family knows you better than you think you do. Felisha’s brother once served a mission in Jamaica for their church. He casually mentioned to Felisha that one of his companions at that mission had an older brother, whom she might be interested in. She learned that his name was Howard. And when she saw his photograph, she was intrigued.

There was one issue though. A geographical challenge to consider. Felisha lived in Yellowknife. Howard was from Atlanta.

Nevertheless, Felisha took a chance. She got Howard’s number and texted him. The following night, they met via Skype (they’ve Skyped every night since then). Three weeks later, they met in person in LA. And the rest is history.

Felisha and Howard are set to wed this May in Toronto where most of Felisha’s family is located. We did their engagement session last December at gorgeous Guildwood Park, the day before the huge snowstorm hit the GTA. I wasn’t going to lie. I was a little concern for Howard when they chose to have their session outside. Guildwood Park was located close to Lake Ontario. With the breeze and wind chill of -15C, it definitely felt cold. But they were such troopers and they braved the cold to have most of their photos taken without their coats on. Looking through their photos, it didn’t even look like they were freezing!

Here are a few images from their session!
