Intimate Toronto Wedding | Tamara and Jakub Part 1
The gentle spatter of rain, a slight swirl of chilled breeze. The light had started to wane as dusk approached swiftly. Underneath the gothic arched corridor of Knox College, Tamara and Jakub held hands as they exchanged vows. Vows that also painted snippets of their lives together. Like the time Jakub brought home their cat to their apartment as pet. Because Tamara had wanted one. Even though he was allergic to it.
At Tamara’s side was her younger brother who smiled as he listened to their stories. And on Jakub’s side was his mother, whose eyes welled up in tears watching his only son marry the woman he was meant to be with. Aside from their officiant, my assistant and myself, their ceremony was the most intimate wedding I’ve had the honour and pleasure of documenting.
Tamara and Jakub had planned on getting married on their anniversary as a couple, April 12, outdoors on the grounds of Knox College where they ate lunch together as undergrads at the University of Toronto. With spring weather however comes unpredictability. Even though the weather on their day did not cooperate with them, it didn’t change the fact that the warmth surrounding their celebration amongst the people they love was real.
Here are a few images from their day.
