Katelyn and Rick | Modern Architecture Inspired Engagement Session

” It’s going down, I’m yelling timber
You better move, you better dance
Let’s make a night, you won’t remember
I’ll be the one, you won’t forget”

– Pitbull

That was Katelyn singing Timber by Pitbull ft. Kesha, showing her dance moves to Rick, and making him smile. Pretty slick dance moves too, I’d say. That’s how I remembered shooting their engagement session. If that’s how much energy they had at their engagement session, I just can’t wait to see them both on the dance floor on their wedding day. Plus, Timber is one of my favourite songs to dance to. Just by that, I already know their music list and their party is going to be a blast!

Katelyn and Rick will tie the knot on Thanksgiving weekend at the Holland Marsh Wineries this year. When they first mentioned that they were both architects, who loves modern architecture, I knew right away where to take them for their engagement session. Uptown Waterloo.

Uptown Waterloo has the Clay and Glass Museum, Perimeter Institute, and the newly built, award winning Centre for International Governance Innovation building, all within walking distance of each other. Just a note though, the Perimeter Institute is a private space so you’ll probably get asked to leave. So if you’re going to do a session here, do it early in the morning.

Here are a few images from their modern architecture inspired engagement session!
