Langdon Hall Wedding | Nichola and Karim | Cambridge Wedding Photojournalist
Nichola and Karim got married at the Langdon Hall Country House in Cambridge, Ontario. If you are following my blog, you would have met them already when I shared a few of their modern engagement session earlier last year.
My day started with Nichola getting ready at Langdon Hall’s bridal suite, a room surrounded by windows that overlooked their outdoor ceremony location. As I was shooting some of their gorgeous details while Nichola and her bridesmaids got ready, I noticed a tiny patch of heart-shaped cotton fabric sewn on the inside of her wedding gown. It was sewn on the left side, closest to her heart. When I asked Nichola about it, she said it was a piece of her father’s favourite shirt. She also had her father’s college ring incorporated in her floral bouquet. His birth stone was amethyst, and so was the colour of her bridesmaids dresses and the palette of her wedding decor. And later on during her speech, I found out that Nichola and her father had dinners at Langdon Hall for their special father-daughter time together.
Nichola’s father passed away two years ago. It wasn’t during the speeches when I realized that almost every detail in their wedding was chosen in memory of him. In her speech, Nichola struck a chord in everyone when she mentioned about missing her father and wishing he was there to celebrate with them. She was really close to him. I couldn’t help but tear up listening to her speak.
Here are a few photos from their Langdon Hall wedding.
