Penryn Mansion Wedding | Joanne and Jason | Documentary Style Wedding Photography
Joanne and Jason, whom I first introduced on the blog when I posted their Fall engagement session in High Park a year ago, had their Penryn Mansion wedding in Port Hope, Ontario. The moment I laid eyes on the Penryn Mansion and its nicely manicured grounds, I could not help but think of one of my favourite shows recently — Downton Abbey. The architecture, the decor, even the gilded wallpapers that covered their walls. Everything was done elegantly. Lady Violet the Dowager Countess would certainly approve.
Hint: If you love everything Downton Abbey, this is the perfect venue for you.
On the day of their wedding, I started with Jason and his two groomsmen at The Waddell, a charming hotel located in downtown Port Hope. The whole theme for the wedding was vintage elegance so to compliment that theme, they all donned fedora hats which I might say, looked really dapper on them.
Joanne and her bridesmaids on the other hand got ready at the Penryn Mansion’s Bridal Suite. After my coverage with the men, I drove back to the mansion to start my coverage with Joanne.
I just love this shot of her Father watching her as she transformed into a bride. You see, Joanne and Jason originally planned on having a destination wedding at the Caribbean. But because her father got sick, and because her father meant the world to her, Joanne and Jason decided to get married locally just so the people they are closest to would get to celebrate their day with them. And they are blessed that Joanne’s father is now doing well and was able to walk her down the aisle himself.
The most perfect looking skin ever. Joanne, I envy you!
