Rachel and Eduardo | A Wedding in Stoney Creek, Ontario
“She did want a Fall wedding,” Eduardo teased his bride, Rachel.
They stood beside one of the pear trees in the orchards of Puddicombe Farms, arms wrapped around each other while they posed for me in front of my camera. The wind gusted, making the tree’s branches lash Eduardo on the head repeatedly. It was August then, but felt more like November with the rain and the temperature being 12 C. But even with that, the smile on Rachel and Eduardo’s faces did not fade. They were happy. Genuinely happy.
Rachel and Eduardo met in University of Guelph years prior. Eduardo was from Brazil and was finishing his graduate studies when he first met Rachel, an undergrad. The chemistry was there, that they could not deny. Their personality just clicked. And soon enough, they fell in love with each other. However, their first major obstacle as a couple happened when Eduardo accepted a job offer in the US and pursue a career in Academia. He had to leave Canada. He had to leave Rachel.
Long distance relationships were never easy but somehow, Rachel and Eduardo’s love was strong enough to pull them through. They made it work. After years of being geographically apart and accumulating air miles as they visited each other whenever they had the chance, Rachel and Eduardo finally tied the knot.
