Steckle Heritage Farms Wedding | Amanda and Rory

I’m so glad to finally share Amanda and Rory’s Steckle Heritage Farm wedding on the blog!

If you’ve read my previous posts, you already know that I haven’t been great at updating my blog this past few months. Most of the action for my recent works have been on Facebook and Instagram though I am slowly catching up. The good thing about going through weddings from several months ago is I get to relive moments  from those weddings. Amanda and Rory’s in particular definitely cheered me up as they threw one great party at Steckle Heritage Farm!

Amanda and Rory’s wedding on the surface was beautiful and so much fun. But underneath it all, I witnessed two people who are so much in love and so happy to be getting married. To top it off, they have their families and friends surrounding them who couldn’t be happier for them both. Their First Look before their wedding ceremony at Steckle Heritage Farm’s apple orchard showed me that. Rory held his tears back (he looks tough but he’s really a gentle soul on the inside). And Amanda couldn’t help smiling throughout. It was an honour  to document that beautiful moment.

If you’re looking for a barn wedding in the city, Steckle Heritage Farm is a good option. They have a huge barn to hold your reception which can also act as a backup plan for a ceremony area in case an outdoor wedding is not possible that day. Their apple orchard is gorgeous, although maybe not a good idea to go there if you have allergies to bees. The string lights in the barn at night adds ambience and quite beautiful to photograph.

It would have been nice though if Steckle Heritage Farm had extended the string lights outside. Imagine trees strewn with string lights illuminating the pathway to the barn. Now that would be something really unique in Kitchener-Waterloo. And it would also help light the path to the only two bathrooms in the property which is a short walk from the barn. If you have elderly guests, they might find it tricky to use the path in the dark.
