Toronto Island Engagement Session | Danielle and Cosimo

Whenever my couples asked me to recommend a spot in the city for some natural scenic shots in the summer, I almost always have one answer.  Ward’s Island. So when Danielle and Cosimo chose to have a Toronto Island engagement session last summer, I was beyond ecstatic!

The last time I had an engagement session at Ward’s Island  was a few years ago.  It was only minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Toronto. But somehow, being on the island makes you feel like you are somewhere else. Like the cottage areas along Lake Huron or something like that. Danielle and Cosimo are pretty relaxed couple so I thought the charm of the place would really suit them.

Aside from getting to photograph Danielle and Cosimo in such a beautiful setting, I also enjoyed getting to know them more. We talked about our mutual love for dogs, movies we loved, TV shows we watched. And at least for Danielle and I, makeup brands we love.

Also, because Cosimo is a fellow Game of Throner, we reminisced about GoT’s Season 5 Episode 8 episode, Hardhome.  It was the best and most exciting thing I’ve ever seen at the time and I was just glad to talk about it with someone else!

We had a wonderful time. As a side note, keep in mind one thing if you are thinking about doing a Toronto Island engagement session in the summer. Don’t wait until the last ferry to take you back Downtown. I realized this the first time I photographed there. Young people who had partied all day at the beach would be riding the last ferry back. Most of them, inebriated. Which could make your trip back interesting, to say the least.
