Paradise Banquet Hall Wedding | Jennifer and Troy
Jennifer and Troy got married this past summer at Paradise Banquet Hall in Vaughan this summer. My day with them started photographing Troy’s coverage with his groomsmen in Richmond Hill. Troy and his groomsmen have been friends for a very long time. It was an easy decision for him to ask them to be at his side on his wedding day. Throughout the day, Troy’s friends made sure that everything went according to plan. And at times when it didn’t (like most weddings do), they took it upon themselves to make alternative solutions just so the bride and groom didn’t have to stress out. They were phenomenal groomsmen.
After my morning with the men, I drove to Mississauga where Jennifer and her bridesmaids were having her hair and makeup done at Beauty Concept by Shirley Wu. Jennifer is the type of person who looks after everyone else before herself, which was exemplified when she chose to get ready at Beauty Concept. This salon knows how to pamper not just the bride but also everyone at the wedding party. They have a separate room for the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready so you can bring your wedding dress there and change after you have your hair and makeup done. Very convenient if you’re concerned with travel time in between locations.
One more thing that I was very impressed with Beauty Concept was that if you’re dress happened to be corseted, Shirley and her staff can get you in that dress in three minutes. Most people do the same task in about 5-10 minutes. Seriously, I’ve never seen anybody tie a corset back that tight and that fast ever. EVER. They should be in the Guinness World Records.
Once Jennifer was in her dress, it was then time for Troy to see his bride for the first time. Troy and his groomsmen arrived at the salon with the limo to pick the ladies before heading to Kortwright Natural Centre for their wedding photos. But I thought it would be nice for them to have a moment to themselves. So I asked one of Jennifer’s Maid of Honour , Kat, to bring Troy into the salon with his eyes covered. Easier said than done as Troy is a tall man, but Kat did a wonderful job making sure their Reveal stayed special.
When Troy opened his eyes and saw Jennifer all dressed up as a bride, he couldn’t help but become emotional. It was one of the most memorable First Look I’ve been fortunate enough to witness as a wedding photographer.
Jennifer and Troy was lucky enough to have a nice weather for an outdoor wedding at the grounds of Paradise Banquet Hall. Even though they’ve seen each other beforehand, they were still both emotional when they exchanged vows. Jim Emerson from Enduring Promises officiated their wedding well. He was also one of the few officiants who was thoughtful enough to keep the photographer and cinematographer in mind. Not all officiants realize that the bride and groom hired professionals to document their day. Jim does. He made it easier for us to work so we could capture Jennifer and Troy day as authentic as possible.
