Toronto Fine Art Wedding Photography | My Story

Five years ago, when I was planning my own wedding, I came across a branch of photography called Wedding Photojournalism. I didn’t know that wedding photography can be more than just  traditional family formals that I was accustomed to growing up in the Philippines. The idea that you can have memories from your day immortalized as an image for us to keep was enthralling to me. So when I picked my own wedding photographer, I picked someone capable of giving me those things.

When I finally got my images back, one image stood out to me a lot was the image of my mother walking me down the aisle. You see, I’m an only child and my mother’s only investment in life (so she said). As we walked down the aisle, I felt her squeeze my arm and I knew that she was fighting not to cry. The image that my photographers took as my mom gave me away may not mean anything to most people. But to me, I know my mom, and I know that the image they took shows how happy she was that I was finally marrying the man I love yet still a little sad because I’m not her little girl anymore.

Everytime I see that image, I remember my Mom and what she means to me. And that I will always cherish. It was then that I decided that I wanted to be the kind of photographer who can capture these kinds of images well, images that tell stories about your relationships with the people you love the most.

This is why I do what I do.

This is my story.
