Driving in Cars with Boo

I need to get my car detailed soon. Why? Because my dog Bella Boo loves to go on car rides. Our other dog, Norman…not so much. But one dog, especially a husky-cross breed, is enough to cover the entire backseat with white fluffy hair. She sheds. A lot. If I had cloned every single piece of hair from her, the world would be dominated by copies of the dainty, blue-eyed, diva named Boo.

Even though she sheds a lot, and makes wearing dark colours a little bit challenging — which is pretty much 80% of my wardrobe — I still bring her with me at every opportunity I get. I like watching people’s faces when they see us drive by. Only when it‘s warm enough to have the windows partially open, though. That’s the only way she’ll take car rides well, otherwise she goes crazy.

Here are some interesting facts about having Boo in car rides.

1.) I have to remember to press the child safety lock for the windows. She knows how to use those buttons.

2.) She likes to stick her head out the window. The faster the car goes, the happier she seems to be.

3.) She says hello to people with her own version of talking. It’s sound more like, “woa-woa-woooooo!“  Most of the time people smile at her, tell her what a cute puppy she is. But sometimes, you get people who are just scared of dogs. Or absolutely hate dogs. Those are not my kind of people.

4.) She has road rage when we’re at a stoplight. See point 2.

5.)  And for some reason, she goes ballistic whenever we pass by a McDonald’s. Kinda like her road rage. Perhaps it’s the smell that emanates from the place. Or maybe she’s just looking after my well-being. Because it would certainly be impossible to order drive through if she was hanging out in the backseat. Vocalizing husky gone wild, people.

Happy Monday!
