Engagement Photos in Unionville | Jennifer and Chris

Unionville is a suburban village in the heart of Markham, Ontario famous for its undeniable small town charm. I’ve heard of this area before, though I’ve never had the chance to explore the place. It wasn’t until Jennifer and Chris chose Unionville as the location for their engagement photo shoot that I saw it for myself.

As pretty as Unionville is as a location for engagement photos, it does have its own drawbacks. Unless you schedule the shoot early in the morning (preferably at sunrise for the best light), you’ll have to deal with a lot of people being in and out of your photographer’s frame. Unionville after all, is a tourist attraction. Your photographer will have to compose creatively so as not to include other people in the background. Also, as subjects, it can be challenging to stay romantic for the camera when there are screaming children around. So do keep those in mind if you’re looking at having your engagement photos or any session done in Unionville.

Even with those challenges, I was grateful that Jennifer and Chris were so easy to work with. They put each other at ease and can make each other laugh so effortlessly. I do have to give them kudos though for staying “in the moment” when we went to Millenium Park for a few shots. There was a little girl squealing her guts out, running around behind the bushes in the background.
