Happy Valentine’s Day | Personal Story

Lying on his tummy, chin cradled on the back of his hand, my husband sighs as he turns a page of a book he’s reading. He scrunches up his nose once in a while. Or pokes me on my side when I’m not paying attention. His method of choice for showing affection apparently.

After five years of being together, I still feel lucky that we have found each other. We may not be a contender for the most romantic couple. Our version of romance is staying in, renting a movie, snuggled in the couch, eating home cooked dinner. But it’s how we want it to be. And on Valentine’s Day, it just feels good to know that your other half is by your side, enjoying the same things.
