Liuna Gardens Wedding | Elaine and Christian | Toronto Documentary Wedding Photography
Elaine and Christian Liuna Gardens wedding in Stoney Creek, Ontario this past June. Their day started at the Hilton Garden Inn in Mississauga where both Elaine and Christian and their wedding parties got ready. If you have been following my blog, you’ll know Elaine and Christian’s love story when I posted their Mississauga engagement session earlier this year. Elaine is from Mississauga but Christian’s family all traveled from New Jersey to attend their wedding.
As with all weddings, there will almost always something unexpected that will happen. In this case, one of the bridesmaids accidentally hit Elaine in the jaw when her hand slipped as she tried to adjust her dress. The photo below was taken just a few seconds right after it happened.
But no worries, Elaine was not hurt and being the calm and relax person that she was, we all had a good laugh about it. 
I just love, love, long wedding veils. They just look so elegant to me especially when the light hit them in the right spot.

Before their wedding ceremony, Elaine and Christian had a feet washing ceremony attended only by themselves, their pastor, and myself to photograph the event. The washing of the feet symbolized their humility and their commitment of serving each other through their marriage. 
After their feet washing ceremony, we all headed to the outdoors ceremony area at the Liuna Gardens where guests were welcomed by the beautiful scenery. It was hot that day but having tall trees as shade and the cool breeze from the lake, it turned out to be quite pleasant.
Every time I photograph a bride walk down the aisle, I always find myself being so emotionally charged. I tried not to cry at weddings but at Elaine and Christian’s wedding, it was hard to stop the tears from rolling.

Because Elaine and Christian and the rest of their wedding party was involved in their Church choir, it was no surprise that their entrance would be musically charged as well. If you’re familiar with Glee or Bruno Mars at all, you’d recognize the moves shown in the photos below.
In between courses, the wedding party prepared musical programs to entertain their wedding guests. Not only is Elaine beautiful, she’s also a talented singer as well!
Christian and his boys surprised Elaine by doing a dance number to the tune of “What Makes You Beautiful” by New Directions.
Elaine’s background is Indonesian so as part of their tradition, Elaine’s parents speeches involved music and a heartfelt message for Elaine and Christian as they start their life together as newlyweds.
Once the dance floor opened, everyone was ready to party!
We only had a few minutes to do some portraits right after the ceremony so while guests were having a great time inside, I took Elaine and Christian out for a couple of night shots. And boy was I glad we did that!
