Upcoming Movies: No Time To Die, WW84, Mulan.

Yesterday, New Year’s Day, my husband and I finally got to see Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker in theatres. While the conclusion of this recent Star Wars Trilogy had me satisfied, what got me pumped even more were the trailers for upcoming movies that almost serve as a pre-game of some sorts. In case the audience is not excited enough to see the feature film they all paid for to enjoy.

James Bond: No Time To Die

Movies about guns and cars? Not my cup of tea. Unless the fight and chase scenes are meticulously choreographed, and the cinematography boasts creatively composed frames with genius use of light and shadows. That, I’ll be all over for.
Such has been the case for all the Daniel Craig James Bond movies I have seen over the years. The trailer for No Time To Die has all the elements I look for in an action genre. I am very much hyped up to live vicariously as a spy again through Bond.

WW84

Uh, hello? It’s frigging Wonder Woman. And it’s set in the ’80s! The ’80s!!! Bouldering shoulder pads, over-the-top hair, and high waisted pants, it’s just one of my favourite decade to draw style inspirations from.

I. Can. Not. Wait.

Also, WW84’s trailer amusingly synched Diana’s punches, kicks, and other acrobatic fighting moves to Blue Monday’s catchy tune. Something of which I found highly entertaining. Love it!

Mulan

I knew the live-action version of Mulan was in the works. I had no idea I only need to wait three more months before its release!

Mulan is my favourite Disney character. I mean, which other princess volunteer herself to go to war to save her father? And can do martial arts? No one else comes to mind?

Because there is none.

Disney seems to have changed a few aspects of this version from the original. One, where’s Mushu? And two, where’s Shang? And three, there’s a witch now?

I am curious though on how the witch plays into the storyline. Are they going to make a social commentary about feminism in this movie, I wonder. More likely, they will. We shall wait and see.

What movies are you looking forward to seeing this year?
