A Culinary Discovery | Personal Story

Three things I enjoy in life are books, photos, and food. You put them all together and what do you get? A cookbook! I am a complete sucker for big cookbooks. Take a peek at my cupboard and you’ll find The Joy of Cooking, The Silver Spoon, and Vefa’s Kitchen stacked up on top of each other. I just enjoy trying out new recipes. To me, it’s about discovering new things. There are lots of flavours to explore that I can’t resist not  finding it out.

My husband Lance, not too much. He’s not a picky eater per se. He’ll try out new stuff if I ask him to. But once he finds a dish he really likes at a restaurant, he won’t order anything else. That’s just how he is. But I still love him anyway :)

Since it was Friday and we’re both free, I thought it would be nice to cook something interesting. I bought 1080 Recipes about a couple of years ago and though I have meant to try out their recipes ever since I got it, I just never had the chance to.

1080 Recipes is a collection of Spanish cuisines translated into English. I chose to cook Chicken with Leeks and Cream. It sounded delicious enough in paper!

I know I have to work more on presentation…but this dish taste so much better than how I presented it here. It’s delish!chicken with leeks and cream by kitchener photographer
