Book Review: The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa

So many books to read, so little time!

Who else has this first-world problem? I have the tendency to collect anything I’m obsessed with and that includes titles of books I want to read. My TBR list nowadays is quite long to the point where I probably have enough books to devour for the next few years or so.

That’s when audiobooks come into the picture. As much as I wish it to be true, I don’t have the luxury to just sit down and read. This woman has gotta hustle, you know? So, whenever I’m doing chores or out on a walk by myself, I listen to audiobooks.

The types of books I listen to are the ones that I can easily digest (what’s with my vocabulary relating to eating? I must be hungry) while moving. Ones that don’t use flowery words, something easy to follow. Usually books in the realm of Romance.

What I love about The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa is that it has caught me off-guard. I’ve never encountered a romance novel with somewhat of an edgier sense of humour. My kind of humour. And, AND! Steamy sex scenes. After Chapter 20, make sure you’re listening in your car alone or use your headphones. I’m glad I wasn’t driving my Mom and her partner around during one of those scenes came up, that’s for sure.

The Worst Best Man is highly entertaining. I enjoyed the Brazilian culture references. I have a degree in Anthropology so learning about how other people live is right up my alley. Sosa also spent time explaining the main characters’ motivations, which she has done really well.

Pick this book up if you want something lighthearted. It’s a pleasant break from books with heavy themes.
