Style: 3 Looks with Black and White Prints

If you ever find me out and about — which have been pretty rare nowadays since the pandemic — I’m either wearing colourful pieces of clothing or just in my activewear. But sometimes, I do appreciate the elegance of black and white pieces.

The thing with me and black and whites is that they are simple enough to style, but I find it stressful to wear in real life. At least in my life. With two husky mixes at home, I’ll have to be constantly preening myself off their fur on my darker clothes, unless the fabric is something slippery like satin. And when I wear white, I’d have to be always aware of how I eat or where I lean back to avoid stains. Not that I’m a slob. That extra awareness of my surroundings is something I’d rather not have to worry about.

I do very much love prints, especially bold, graphic black and white ones!

My friend Melissa from @coffeewiththeunknown gifted this awesome vintage dress. You can pair this with any shoes but I was feeling the 80’s vibe so I chose my pointed toe white slides!

Mixing black and white patters, polka dots and stripes

Here, I also mixed two types of prints. I wore this polka dot blouse from Zara I got five years ago with a striped maxi skirt from Zaful. I then grabbed a grey blazer to anchor the look, and a long beaded necklace to make it more me.

I like to play with clothes to see how else I can wear them. Skirts, like this graphic black and white one from H&M can be easily worn underneath a dress with some volume at the bottom. Just add a belt to cinch a waist if you so prefer, and voila!
