Elora Wedding Photographer | Heidi and Larry’s Engagement Session in Elora, Ontario

Heidi and Larry belonged to the same circle of friends and lived only ten minutes away from each other. Larry worked with Tracy (whose beautiful teal/green wedding I photographed this summer). Tracy is sister to Kristy (who also happened to be one of my 2011 brides for her elegant purple/orange theme wedding in Waterloo.) And Kristy went to school with Heidi years ago. Even though they shared friends and and pretty much went to the same places based on their proximity to each other, they had never crossed  paths.

Until eHarmony came along. They met, they went on a date, and fell in love. And now, they’re engaged!

For their engagement session, we decided to go to Elora, Ontario where Larry proposed in an unconventional yet really creative manner. Larry put together a “Choose Your Own Adventure Book” for Heidi to do. Just for fun, he said. So Heidi, who happened to love challenges, agreed, which led her to the town of Elora, right down to the gorge’s riverbank. There, she found a huge rock across Lover’s Leap with their engraved names, “Larry + Heidi” encircled in a heart. On the last page of the book was a question from Larry. And Heidi wrote in big bold letters, “Yes!”
