Sara and Ayron’s Guelph Engagement Session | Guelph Wedding Photographer
If you think being a wedding photographer is awesome, you are absolutely right. It’s not an easy job as most people believe. But being able to meet and work with such awesome couples who are clearly in love with each other is definitely one of the many reasons why I do what I do. Sara and Ayron are no exception. The day we did their engagement session was actually the first time we met in person. Since they both reside in Ottawa finishing their respective programs in engineering, our first meeting was done via Skype (gotta love technology!) and I was thrilled that they were looking for wedding photos that…

Mary Beth and Brandon’s Winter Kitchener Engagement Session
Absence makes the heart grow fonder. For Mary Beth and Brandon, this was certainly true. They first met at a get together with mutual friends. The initial attraction was there and so they started dating . But it wasn’t until they had to live in two different cities that they realized that what they have, what they felt for each other was real. And after three years, they are finally going to tie the knot. And live the rest of their lives together happily. Mary Beth and Brandon won the Engagement Session contest from The Wedding Dreams Show I attended with other fellow Kitchener wedding photographers. I had a wonderful time…

Documentary Wedding Photographer | Ron and Ann
My husband and I have been married for four and a half years. Before we got married, we thought we wanted kids. One boy, one girl, and a dog would have been my ideal. He wanted two girls, thinking that girls would be easier to raise. At least until they turn sixteen and start dating. As the years went by, we kept postponing our plans to start having kids. We did get our dog, who is basically our child now. We’ve been holding off mainly because we’re both busy with work. And also because we’re both afraid. Are we ready and responsible enough to raise another human being? Will I…

When photographers shoot each other — The Desert Edition.
Last week, I went to WPPI Convention in Las Vegas. WPPI is the biggest photography convention in North America with 15,000 photographers in attendance. Aside from the classes and the expo, there are tons, TONS, of parties to attend. It’s pretty much our own version of Spring Break. Unfortunately for me, my Eastern Time trained body was unable to adjust to Vegas Time so even with sincere intentions of partying it out like a rock star, I found myself in bed by 9 pm, knocked out cold, each night. Which really limited my socializing time during daylight hours. Luckily, a bunch of my photographer friends planned on heading out to…

An Anthropologist’s Take on Wedding Photography | Toronto Documentary Wedding Photography
I didn’t go to school for Photography. I had an Honours Degree in Anthropology instead. For those who are not familiar with it, Anthropology is the study of human culture past (Archaeology) and present (Cultural Anthropology). I was fascinated, no, obsessed with understanding the human experience through culture, and examining what makes us human. If there was a Canadian University that offered Inca Archaeology in their grad programs several years ago, my life would have followed a different route. I’m bringing this part of me up because last week, I attended WPPI and had an amazing time learning from photographers I admire, connecting with friends from other parts of the…
