When photographers shoot each other --- The Desert Edition.

Last week, I went to WPPI Convention in Las Vegas. WPPI is the biggest photography convention in North America with 15,000 photographers in attendance. Aside from the classes and the expo, there are tons, TONS, of parties to attend. It’s pretty much our own version of Spring Break. Unfortunately for me, my Eastern Time trained body was unable to adjust to Vegas Time so even with sincere intentions of partying it out like a rock star, I found myself in bed by 9 pm, knocked out cold, each night.

Which really limited my socializing time during daylight hours.

Luckily, a bunch of my photographer friends planned on heading out to the desert one afternoon for a shoot out.

This is where the story begins.

We left MGM around 4:30. Fourteen photographers, one model, four vehicles.

We missed our exit on the highway, so we thought we’d find the other dried up lake bed nearby.

We didn’t find that other lake bed. I think we got lot lost somewhere in California instead.

So we decided to find our way back and head to our original destination. Fortunately, we found another couple who was also doing their own kind of shooting and asked them for directions.

And just when we thought our luck was getting better, one of our cars got stuck in the sand. We had strong men in our group so they were able to lift the car out of the sandy bump.
