The Ng Family: Day In The Life Session II | Toronto Family Photojournalist
It has been a couple of years since shooting my first Day In The Life Session with the Ng family. They were the first whom I had the privilege of documenting a typical day in their life together. I wanted to shoot something different than a wedding. And I was lucky enough that Melodie and Dave have welcomed me in their home and photograph them as a family photojournalist. Fast forward to two years after their first session with me, Melodie reached out to me again. They now have a third child and they would like to photos of their family while their youngest is still a baby. As much as…

Kitchener Family Documentary Photographer | Goodale Family
The biggest draw of photography for me is the privilege to observe the human condition first hand. That’s how I fell in love with weddings. My clients and their relationships with their families and friends make each wedding interesting. It is those relationships that I hope to portray each time I click my shutter. After my experience with The Foundation Workshop a couple of years ago, I became interested in developing my own personal documentary projects. Richmond Hill Family Documentary Photographer | Masuma and Ali
Masuma is a fellow wedding photographer whom I met at Jerry Ghionis’ workshop in Toronto back in 2012. When you spend five days with other people who share your passion, it’s not surprising for us to remain friends afterwards. We’ve kept in touch through Facebook over the years and when she learned about my personal project involving documenting families, she and her husband, Ali, was kind enough to open up their home to me. Masuma, like most mothers, take photos of her families all the time. But because she’s the one that takes them, she’s rarely in the photos of herself. A family’s record is not complete without showing every…

Toronto Documentary Family Photographer | The Ng Family
Ever since I’ve done the Foundation Workshop last year and saw images from my fellow attendees whose assignments involved families, I’ve been wanting to try and document a day in a family’s life as a personal project. First because I wanted to practice what I learned outside of weddings. And second, I am curious. I was raised by my Mom and my Aunt, so the role of fathers in raising children is something I am not familiar with. My husband and I have no kids so raising a family is all foreign to me. Melodie, my friend from school years ago reached out to me last summer to see if…
