Sarah and Chris’ Intimate Flat Rocks Cellars Wedding | Jordan Ontario Wedding Photographer
One of the most memorable weddings I’ve ever had the honour photographing was that of Sarah and Chris’s Flat Rocks Cellars wedding. It wasn’t the most elaborately decorated, nor was it held in a swanky, elegant venue. There were no hired jazz bands to stir the guests into dancing nor were there string quartets to accompany the bride as she walked down the aisle. There were none of those. Instead, they had an intimate wedding, consisted of their immediate families who all drove down to Flat Rocks Cellars in Jordan, Ontario from Kitchener. Sarah and Chris wanted to celebrate their wedding with just their families because to them, what mattered…

How Many Hours of Wedding Photography Coverage Do You Need?
If getting beautiful imagery from your wedding is important to you, it is crucial that you figure out how many hours of wedding photography you would need on your day before you book your wedding photographer. Not booking enough hours on your day may result to not getting the quality of photos you’ve expected to receive. It may also mean you increase the likelihood of rushing and being stressed — instead of enjoying the moment — just so you can squeeze in all the photos you want in the limited time you have. You might also end up compromising your wedding reception schedule. Which is not the ideal thing to…

Penryn Mansion Wedding | Joanne and Jason | Documentary Style Wedding Photography
Joanne and Jason, whom I first introduced on the blog when I posted their Fall engagement session in High Park a year ago, had their Penryn Mansion wedding in Port Hope, Ontario. The moment I laid eyes on the Penryn Mansion and its nicely manicured grounds, I could not help but think of one of my favourite shows recently — Downton Abbey. The architecture, the decor, even the gilded wallpapers that covered their walls. Everything was done elegantly. Lady Violet the Dowager Countess would certainly approve. Hint: If you love everything Downton Abbey, this is the perfect venue for you. On the day of their wedding, I started with Jason…

Vanessa and Gregory | Cambridge Wedding Documentarian
I first introduced Vanessa and Gregory’s story when I posted photos from their romantic beach engagement session about a year ago. I had a wonderful time getting to know them as a couple and had since looked forward to working with them again on their Cambridge Mills Wedding in Cambridge, Ontario. What I loved the most about their wedding was the love between Vanessa and Gregory, and the love their families have for them. As their relationship blossomed through the years, so did the bond between their families. Gregory’s parents mentioned in their speech, they have already considered Vanessa and her family to be part of theirs for a long time.…

End of Year Personal Reflections, 2012 Edition
As 2012 draws to an end, I found myself wondering lately what my life would have been like had I not been a wedding photographer. Three things came to mind: 1. My house would be so much cleaner all year long. I can only speak for myself, but during the wedding season when I seclude myself with my computer from the rest of the civilization, editing images, making sure each looked perfect, it wasn’t hard to become complacent about how everything else looked like. It wasn’t a pretty sight. Especially with a part husky dog as a pet (I’m not complaining. She’s a really awesome dog!) I’m just grateful for…
